20-year-old arrested for vehicle theft
California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 20-year-old man for car theft after a routine traffic stop on Friday morning on Highway 101 north of Highway 46, the agency reports
At about 10 a.m., CHP officers pulled over Juan Garcia Lorenzo for speeding near Stockdale Road just north of Paso Robles. During the traffic stop, officers say they discovered the license plates on the Honda Accord that he was driving had been switched. Additionally, the officers found burglary tools in the vehicle.
Lorenzo was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property and driving without a license. Four passengers in the car were released by the officers. Lorenzo was being held at San Luis Obispo County Jail on $20,000 bail.
