2014 Wine Tourism Conference coming to Paso Robles

Wine-TourismThe 2014 Wine Tourism Conference is coming to Paso Robles Nov. 12-14. It’s hosted by the county’s visitors and conference bureau, Visit San Luis Obispo County, in partnership with Travel Paso Robles Alliance. Most of the conference events will be held at the Paso Robles Inn and registration for the conference is currently open.

This year, Visit San Luis Obispo County is presenting a pre-conference workshop entitled Creating Engaging Events, to be held the morning of Nov. 12. The workshop will underline cutting-edge events created by industry professionals. Speakers include: Stacie Jacob, CEO of Visit San Luis Obispo County; Rey Ledda, executive director of Integrated Marketing, Sunset Publishing; Holly Holliday, owner of Create Promotions; Luke Udsen, California director of sales and marketing for Castoro Cellars; and Kendall Carson, wine club manager at Halter Ranch Vineyard. The session will highlight the various purposes of wine country events and focus on the common goal of creating an experience and brand impression. Workshop participants do not need to be registered for the entire conference.

“Hosting the Wine Tourism Conference is a huge honor and privilege for the San Luis Obispo County and Paso Robles tourism businesses. It is also a testament to our wine region’s success,” said Jacob. “We are thrilled to showcase our destination, and particularly excited to host the pre-conference workshop, where we can explore event strategies and methods to increase audience engagement.”

The Fourth Annual Wine Tourism Conference will be held for the first time on the Central Coast of California and is expected to attract a weekday attendance of 200 wine tourism professionals from throughout the world. Representatives across the industry, from wine and tourism associations and media outlets to wineries, hotels, and tour operators are expected to be in attendance. The conference provides a networking forum for industry leaders and workshops to help professionals boost their wine tourism business – and of course the chance to taste the best wines from the region. The conference is also projected to generate a strong economic impact for the local community of Paso Robles.
