2017 summer camps and activities for kids 


Art for Children Day Camp

Art for Children Day Camp

Art for Children’s North County Day Camp will hold two sessions at Vineyard Elementary School in Templeton this summer. This will be the sixth year of the camp. The camp is open to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Camp prices include all supplies and a camp t-shirt. Two sessions will be held June 26 – 29 and July 31 – Aug 3 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and include include art, drama, music, cooking, Lego engineering, GoPro Fun, marine biology, and more. AYSO Soccer Camp

American Youth Soccer Organization will host a summer camp in Paso Robles at Barney Schwartz Soccer Field on June 12 – 16. Four sessions are available: a half day camp for age 6-16; full day camp for ages 8-16; and two mini camps for ages 4-5. Hours vary depending on the session. For more information click here.


Bob Cantu’s Basketball Camp

Former University of Southern California basketball coach Bob Cantu is offering four basketball camps at Paso Robles High School for June 19-22 and at Mission Prep High School in San Luis Obispo June 26-29. There are two sessions for each camp. Session 1 for boys and girls 4 – 8 years is from 9 a.m. – noon at each location. Session 2 for boys and girls 9 – 12 years is from 2 – 5 p.m. at each location. Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County offers a comprehensive summer camp in Paso Robles and Atascadero for children K through 8 grades. The program runs June 22 to Aug. 18 every weekday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes all meals. The club’s Summer Brain Gain program can prevent summer learning loss by extending learning throughout the summer. Young people work together in groups to explore ideas, learn through fun projects, express themselves with a variety of art activities all while building their academic skills. Camp Natoma

This is a popular week-long overnight summer camp in the hills outside of Paso Robles with six sessions available from June 25 to Aug 12 for students leaving first grade through leaving ninth grade. Each session runs Sunday to Saturday and offers a week of sleeping under the stars. Campers gain self-confidence, become positive team-players, expand their imagination, and develop a relationship with the natural world. It will also offer one family camp from June 23 to 25. City of Paso Robles summer activities

The City of Paso Robles is offering multiple options for kids this summer through both Recreation Services and the City Library. Camps and classes for all ages include aquatics, soccer,art, summer reading, and a variety of other activities. College for Kids Summer at Cuesta College

Students entering fifth through ninth grades can take advantage of two sessions of College for Kids at Cuesta College’s campus in San Luis Obispo. Classes run Monday through Thursday. Sessions will be held June 19 to July 6 and July 10 through July 26. They include a wide variety of courses in science, computers, sports and hands-on activities. Miss Matisse Dance Camp

Miss Matisse Dance will offer 11 summer sessions between June 17 and Aug 12. Most days include a morning and afternoon session. The younger dancers will dance ballet and do crafts and the older dancers will dance jazz, contemporary, lyrical and ballet. Playtime Discoveries Summer Camp

Playtime Discoveries is offering a summer camp for children at 7600 Morro Road in Atascadero. The eight different themed camps start June 19 and end August 17 for children 4 to 11. SLO High School Sports Camps

San Luis Obispo High School offers a Sports Summer Camp for boys and girls 4 through 13 years old. A variety of classes in soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball and cheer are available. Camps run a week at a time from June 12 to Aug. 4. They are designed with an emphasis on fun and skill development. Youth Horse Camps

  • Hanging Heart Ranch in Templeton offers both children and adults the opportunity to learn how to care for and ride horses through lessons and camp programs. Camps start on June 19 and run through August 16 covering a variety of riding and horse care topics.

YMCA Paso Robles Pioneer Day Camp

The YMCA at Centennial Park in Paso Robles offers a comprehensive summer camp program that runs from June 19 to Aug. 17  from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every weekday for children from K through sixth grade. The camp is designed and staffed to be age-appropriate and gives children the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new friends. Zoo to You Summer Safari Camp

Zoo to You offers four sessions for children 7 to 12 years old. Sessions start June 26 and run to August 10, 8 a.m. to noon. Children will meet different animal ambassadors and learn facts about their species, why they are important to our planet, and how they came to Conservation Ambassadors. They will make animal crafts from recycled materials, draw the animals, play interactive games, and tour the grounds.
