More than 100 Atascadero Chamber of Commerce members and volunteers walked the streets of Atascadero Thursday morning to survey 450 small business owners about their success and their needs. It was called the Atascadero Business Walk.

They divided up into groups of three and asked small business owners four short questions, including one question about signage, which has been a sore subject in the past. Results from the survey will be shared Oct. 8 at the Galaxy Theater in Atascadero.

Congresswoman Lois Capps, along with Linda Hendy, president and CEO of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce, Atascadero Mayor Tom O’Malley, and San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Debbie Arnold spoke to the volunteers before they head out into the city to survey businesses.

“Our small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy,” Capps said. “When we can assist our small businesses, we are strengthening our local economy and community as a whole. I commend the City of Atascadero and the Chamber of Commerce for conducting this survey, and look forward to hearing the feedback from the community.”
