3rd Annual Top Chef Competition comes to Paso
The Wellness Kitchen and Resource Center is presenting the 3rd Annual Top Chef Competition at the Estrella Warbirds Museum at 4251 Dry Creek Road in Paso Robles on Sept. 18 from 5-9 p.m.
The 2012 and 2013 winning Top Chef Alex Martin of Crush Catering will compete against Jacob Lovejoy of Cass Winery in Paso Robles and Nick Otto of Villa Creek in downtown Paso Robles. Local radio personality and entertainer Chad Stevens is the Master of Ceremonies.
A distinguished panel of judges comprised of Chef Ian McPhee of McPhee’s Grill in Templeton, Mark Lisa, CEO of Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, and Dr. Brian DiCarlo of Integrated Cancer Care in San Luis Obispo will select the 2014 TOP CHEF after sampling an appetizer, main dish and dessert prepared from a “secret” basket of ingredients and well-stocked pantry in the style of the popular Food Network TV show “Chopped.” A raffle will be held for a lucky attendee to be the 4th judge. Idler’s Home is providing the “kitchen stage” for the competition.
The evening also features a live and silent auction. Items include overnight stays, special vintages of wine, art prints, jewelry, merchandise and other local items. Guests will enjoy wine tasting and a delicious dinner catered by The Wellness Kitchen. Seating is limited. Tickets are $100 per person, table for 8 is $700. Tickets are available at The Wellness Kitchen, 1255 Las Tablas Road in Templeton, online at www.TheWKRC.org and by calling (805) 434-1800. Sponsorship packages are available.
