Achievement House now at SLO Thursday Night Farmers’ Market

Achievement House at slo farmers' market

–Achievement House (AHI) is now offering handmade and locally grown products from its various retail businesses at the Downtown San Luis Obispo Thursday Night Farmers’ Market. AHI is a nonprofit agency that provides vocational training and community living services and programs for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Each week, the items for sale at the farmers’ market will vary. Some weeks, AHI will bring succulents and seasonal house plants that are grown on site at its retail nursery behind Cuesta College. Other weeks, the art studio will feature handmade art work. The bargain store will also sell stylish clothes and jewelry donated from community members. Prices will range from $1 to $20, depending on the item.

Achievement House plans to purchase a vehicle dedicated to attending the weekly market. It will be purchased with funds from the organization’s recent annual golf tournament.

For more than 60 years, Achievement House has been dedicated to training and placing individuals into useful and productive jobs and helping adults who wish to live independently within the community. The nonprofit’s programs reach across San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County. The nursery, e-waste recycling, and thrift stores are open to the community. The organization also operates the 11th Hole Grill at Laguna Golf Course and Cup of Joe at the California Army National Guard’s Camp San Luis Obispo.
