Acoustic guitar vituoso Preston Reed playing Oct. 11

Preston-Reed-Acoustic guitar wizard Preston Reed announced a performance at Castoro Cellars in Templeton on Oct. 11 as part of his upcoming US tour. With a recent spate of well-received forays into Europe and South America, it’s been quite some time since he has performed on his home turf, but the The New York native is excited to be back and share the music from his new critically acclaimed record “In Here Out There” with American audiences.

The tour is set to kick off on Oct. 10 at the Coalesce Book Store in Morro Bay and will wind its way through the state before heading to the east coast for dates in Vienna, VA, Philadelphia, PA, Norfolk, CT, Northampton and Boston, MA. It will finish out at Subculture in New York City on Nov. 6. Each night will feature Reed alone with just his guitar performing some of the most intricate and forward-thinking acoustic music on the planet. It’s a live show not to be missed and has been described by The Irish Independent as, “Spectacular…the best one-man show this reviewer has seen since Bruce Springsteen.”

Reed’s latest record “In Here Out There” finds the guitarist doing what he’s done best over the past two decades – redefining the limits of what was previously thought possible on the acoustic guitar. It’s a record that is equally remarkable for its lush full orchestration as well as its crushing sparseness. Premier Guitar Magazine praised his newest work declaring that it “highlights new compositions and a few old favorites that demonstrate a high level of maturity and confidence. Put simply, Reed has never sounded better.”
