ART for Children gets grant from Central Coast Funds for Children

ART-4-ChildrenART for Children, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that raises funds to expand art instruction for Templeton’s elementary students recently announced it is the recipient of a $1000 grant from Central Coast Funds for Children. The grant from Central Coast Funds for Children will allow ART for Children to double the amount allocated this year to each campus for art supplies providing the art instructors and students better quality tools and materials to create and learn.

Jen Chalekson, vice president of ART for Children’s Board of Directors stated “On behalf of the families and students at Templeton’s elementary schools, we would like to thank Central Coast Funds for Children for awarding this generous donation.” She added, “CCFC’s grant will go a long way to improve the art program at Templeton’s elementary schools and we look forward to seeing what our students will create.”

Artistic Resources Team (ART for Children) was established by a group of concerned parents in 2009 when state budget cuts threatened the art program at Templeton’s two public elementary schools. Since then, ART for Children has worked to fund a trained art teacher at both campuses and to provide art instruction to over 1,000 students.
