best sparkling wines in paso robles

Sparkling wine is always a great choice, regardless of the time of year. But when you’re enjoying a Paso Robles summer day, a glass of bubbly feels almost perfect.

There used to be relatively few wineries in San Luis Obispo County that produced reliably delicious sparkling wines, but now, high-quality champagne-style wines are more popular and easy to find.

While there’s nothing wrong with opening a high-end bottle of big brand-name bubbly, why not try a local sparkling wine this summer.

Brochelle Vineyards 2016 Brochelle “Bubbles” – $32
This Methode Champenoise style Blanc de Blanc Cuvee is a dry Brut-style wine with a whisper of sweetness and a creamy texture that develops as the wine ages. A bouquet of toasty yeast creates a supple mid-palate with a bright, crisp impression of apple and finishes with soft ripe nectarine.

HammerSky Vineyards Detained Sparkling – $39.99
A sparkling wine with crisp aromas of pear, pineapple, and flavors of green apple with a toasty coconut finish.

Laetitia Brut Cuvée Sparkling Wine – $28
This non-vintage effervescent sparkling wine is light and easy to drink. It comes from one of the county’s premier sparkling wine producers. It was made using the traditional Methode Champenoise style. Tiny bubbles and a crisp finish make this sparkling a real crowd pleaser. It’s a blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot blanc. It will pair well with a dessert or a fruit and cheese course.best sparkling wines in paso robles
