Bovino Vineyards selects SLO Food Bank as featured charity

–Bovino Vineyards has announced that the featured charity this holiday season is the SLO Food Bank. When tasting room guests donate $100 they are able to purchase 3 cases of wine from the Burbank Ranch brand for just $3. This donation promotion will continue until the end of December.

“Bovino Vineyards is a tremendous community partner with SLO Food Bank,” said Kevin Drabinski, Chief Executive Officer, Food Bank of SLO County. “Their ongoing assistance helps us reach 30,000 residents in San Luis Obispo County every month with healthy nutritious food. Especially at this season we appreciate bovino for helping us put more plates at the holiday tables of our county neighbors most in need.”

Bovino Vineyard’s owner, Dan Souza, says he believes in giving back to the community. Since the winery opened in May of this year, in addition to individual donations, a featured charity has been supported each month through donations of a portion of wine sales from the gen.er.os.i.ty brand, or a special promotion for case purchases. Over $15,000 has been donated to the following organizations by the winery this year: Valley Children’s Hospital, Lighthouse Atascadero, Big Brothers Big Sisters, March of Dimes, North County Paws Cause, Boys & Girls Club, Children’s Museum, and California Department of Education.

“Lighthouse Atascadero welcomes Bovino Vineyards, as they join our many community partners who help us deal with drug abuse in Atascadero through our programs of awareness, prevention, intervention and education to benefit the students in our schools,” says Donn Clickard, Executive Director of Lighthouse, Atascadero Greyhound Foundation. “Thank you to Bovino Vineyards for becoming part of the “we” in “we not me” our favorite saying about the work we do. The significant monetary contribution donated to us by the folks at Bovino is what helps us continue to move forward with our programs.”

According to Susan West, the winery’s director of operations, “It makes you feel good inside to help others. People love to donate when they hear the story of how the funds help a supported cause. We will continue to identify a cause each month and rotate through the many worthy organizations requiring funds.”
