Caltrans will pave the new traffic lanes of Hwy. 46 East from Almond Drive to McMillan Canyon Road beginning Tuesday, Dec. 10 through Thursday, Dec. 12 from 7 am to 4:30 pm. Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control with delays not to exceed thirty minutes.

This road work is part of the third phase of widening Hwy. 46 from east of Almond Drive to McMillan Canyon Road from one to two lanes in each direction. The contractor for this $38 million project is Papich Construction of Pismo Beach, CA. This project is expected to be completed in 2015.

Construction is currently underway on phase two of widening Hwy. 46 from Geneseo Road to east of Almond Drive. Construction is expected to be completed in 2014.
This first phase of widening Hwy. 46 East from Airport Road to Geneseo Road was completed in 2010.
