City hires new director of community development

The City of Paso Robles announced this week that Warren Frace has accepted appointment as Paso Robles Director of Community Development. He will start working for the city Jan. 28. Frace will replace Ed Gallagher, who recently retired.

Frace has been a resident of San Luis Obispo County for the past 15 years. He began his planning career 24 years ago after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and has held a variety of private and public sector planning jobs throughout the State.

Since 2001, he has served as the director of community development for the City of Atascadero. Past planning accomplishments that he is most proud of include the 2035 Atascadero General Plan, Atascadero Downtown Master Plan, Sunken Garden restoration, and construction of the Galaxy Theatre in Colony Square.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work for the City of Paso Robles, it is a wonderful community,” Frace says. “I am looking forward to being part of great staff team and working closely with the city council.”

“The city clearly knows where it is heading and has done many things to make Paso Robles a wonderful place to live and visit,” he says. “The attention given to maintaining an active pedestrian oriented downtown, beautiful City gateways, and improved roadway systems shows the City’s dedication to its citizens.”

Frace is also very impressed with the desire to pursue innovative neighborhood community design alternatives that aim to heighten neighborhood family life and community spirit.

Frace makes his home in Paso Robles with his wife Shari and their three children Braedon, Brynn and Brittni. When he is not out enjoying a warm North County summer evening, he enjoys photography and exploring the beaches and trails of San Luis Obispo County with friends and family.
