The Paso Robles Housing Authority (PRHA) is a public entity formed out of the City of Paso Robles in 1942. Operating under California Housing Authority laws, and regulated under California Health and Safety Code. Overseen by a seven-member Board of Commissioners including two tenant commissioners. The board members all have diverse backgrounds and experience in development, community service, education, banking, and business.

The PRHA has owned and managed the 25-acre parcel located on the North end of Paso Robles known as the Oak Park Community since 1942. Oak Park originally consisted of 148 units constructed to serve the enlisted men, women, and families of Camp Roberts during WWII.

In 2012, the PRHA committed to disposition out of Public Housing and into an affordable housing project with plans to demolish the existing units over a period of time and construct 301 units of new affordable family style apartments which was constructed in four phases. The rents are targeted to qualified families making 30-60% of San Luis Obispo County area median income levels.

All four phases of the Oak Park redevelopment project have been completed and are fully leased. Oak Park Community Apartments recently received the 2019 beautification award from the Paso Robles City Chamber of Commerce. PRHA is constantly seeking new affordable housing projects to develop in the North County of San Luis Obispo.

PRHA sponsors onsite educational and recreational programs for the residents in our rental properties including its own YouthWorks program targeted to youth.
