Domaine Degher cabernet takes double gold at SF Wine Competition

Domaine Degher

‘Growing grapes and making wine is like jazz,’ says winemaker

– Domaine Degher’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon recently took a double gold medal at the 2022 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

When owner and winemaker Denis Degher founded Domaine Degher (also known as Mojo Cellars) in 2005, there were only 45 wineries in Paso. “You could still park downtown on Friday and Saturday night and without the parking meters. Things sure have changed,” he said. But what hasn’t changed is Degher’s dedication to making small-lot hand-crafted cabernet sauvignon, grenache, and Rhone/Bordeaux blends. Degher said, “growing grapes and making wine is like jazz, lots of improvization, and less is usually more.” Only 96 cases were produced.
