Highway 1 paving begins this week
–A project to resurface the pavement on Highway 1 from just north of Harmony Valley Road to Cambria Pines Road begins today, Monday, June 10.
Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures with flaggers Sunday night through Friday morning from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Construction will also take place Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. until 2 pm.
Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes. Electronic message boards will inform the public about this roadwork.
The contractor for this $3.2 million project is Granite Construction of Santa Maria, CA. This project is expected to be complete this September.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
