Hispanic business group hosts Dia de los Muertos celebration
The Hispanic Business Association will host its third annual Dia de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Sculpterra Winery, located at 2015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, CA 93446, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The charge is $20 per person, with discount rates for groups and businesses.
The Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos, is a festival celebrating the reunion of the dead with their families. This celebration, while morbid to some who are not acquainted with the Latino culture, is to recognize the life/death/rebirth continuum that which many believe. This is their way of recognizing that death is a part of life, and to celebrate those who have passed on.
The celebration will include costumes, community altars, painted faces, networking of business members, live music, traditional dancers, food and wine tasting throughout the event. The Hispanic Business Association, Sculpterra Winery and several Mexican restaurants are the event sponsors.
