Huge thanks to fireworks committee and donors

To celebrate Paso Robles’ 125th anniversary and Independence Day a group of local residents launched a 4th of July Committee to raise funds and gather volunteers to create a special event.

Their efforts were hugely successful. The events in the park on July 4 and the spectacular fireworks were a big hit and paid for by community donations, not city tax dollars. The community owes a debt of gratitude to those who made it happen.

Special thanks go to 4th of July Committee Chairman Al Garcia and members Jim Fritsche, Shirley Fritsche, Joy Sprague, Duane Picanco and Randal Moos, Jennifer Smith, Pastor Varnum Shults, Pastor Aaron Newman, Emil Mesko, and Anna Lisa Lukes. An additional 135 volunteers worked throughout the day to staff the events, food and games booths.

The committee raised about $36,000 in private donations that paid for the fireworks show and the additional city staff from the police department, fire department and public works.

Special thanks go to those who made financial contributions to pay for the event:
