Hundreds gather for Rhone Rangers wine tasting

Ciera and Mark Adams of Ledge Vineyards.

Nearly 150 wines from more than 55 members of the Paso Robles Rhone Rangers were poured to hundreds of guests Sunday afternoon at the Rhone Rangers Grand Tasting.

The line-up of wines included top Rhone-style single varietals and the best local Rhone blends. This year, the local Rhone Rangers welcomed a delegation of wineries from key Rhone Rangers chapters outside Paso Robles.

The event was held Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rava Wines on Creston Road, east of Paso Robles. Ticket sales were capped at 400 guests.

Rhone-style wines originate from the wines made in the Rhone Valley in France. Popular varities include Rhone-style reds like syrah, grenache, and mourvedre; and Rhone-style whites like marsanne, viognier, and picpoul.
