Independent Grape Growers hold annual winter seminar
Drought will be topic of discussion
The public is invited to join the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) for their Annual Winter Seminar. The seminar will be held from 1 pm to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Silverhorse Winery & Vineyard located at 2995 Pleasant Road, San Miguel, Calif.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from K. Christopher (KC) Branch of KC Branch Firm about Grape Purchase Agreements, PG&E Meteorologist John Lindsey about the drought and winter weather forecasts, also an NRCS Representative will discuss government programs that maybe available to help growers who suffer financial losses due to the drought. Finally, Dr. Lowell Zelinski of Precision Ag Consulting and Richard Sauret of Sauret Vineyards will talk about modifications to pruning strategies because of the drought including pruning both head and cordon trained vines.
