A big new winery is going up on the westside of Paso Robles. Law Estate Wines is building a new facility on a 45-care site off of Peachy Canyon Road about five miles west of Paso Robles.

It’s a state-of-the-art gravity flow winery with 22 concrete tanks. It will have a laboratory on site, indoor and outdoor tasting areas and an “Owner’s Library” for private tastings. The winery will be able to produce up to 10,000 case per year. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The winery is the dream of proprietors Don and Susie Law. They have brought on one of Paso Robles’ top winemakers, Scott Hawley to head up their wine program. The winery was designed by BAR Architects using Scott Hawley’s wine making ideas and clean and contemporary style.

Law Estate Wines has 260 acres for vineyard plantings on the west side. Their 2010 inaugural vintage of 1,500 cases is set to be released to their allocation list in the Fall.
