League of Women Voters to hold forums for County District Attorney and District 2 Supervisor Candidates

As the June 3 primary election approaches, the League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County is conducting two candidate forums to give voters an opportunity to meet local candidates and ask them questions.

District attorney

Candidates for San Luis Obispo County district attorney will participate in a forum on April 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Library. Assistant District Attorney Tim Covello and Deputy District Attorney Dan Dow are running for the seat being vacated by Gerald T. Shea. The library is located at 995 Palm Street in San Luis Obispo.

District 2 Supervisor

On May 12, candidates for District 2 Supervisor will take part in a forum at Rabobank in Cambria. Incumbent Bruce Gibson will face Cambria Community Services District Director Muril Clift. The forum will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Rabobank is located at 1070 Main Street in Cambria.

Local organizations arrange the location and date for a candidate forum, contact the candidates, and ask the League of Women Voters to conduct and moderate the forum. The San Luis Obispo Tribune has arranged for the forum on April 23 and the Cambria AAUW for the May 12 forum. If your organization would like to arrange for a candidate forum contact the League of Women Voters at (805) 782-4040 or info@lwvslo.org.
