How Did You Get This Number?

Library Book ClubThe Paso Robles Library Book Club invites the public to join in a lively discussion of Sloane Crosley’s How Did You Get This Number, on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Library Conference Room.

Crosley lives and works in New York City, but she’s ready to pack up her sensibility and take us with her to Paris, to Portugal (having picked it by spinning a globe), and even to Alaska, where the “bear bells” on her fellow bridesmaids’ ponytails seem merely decorative until a grizzly cub dramatically intrudes. Meanwhile, back in New York, as new apartments beckon and taxi rides go frantically awry, the city reveals untold new
layers and unexpected complications — and it’s safe to say the same goes for her relationships with friends and family. Crosley’s voice is fueled by the perfect witticism, buoyant optimism, flair for drama, and easy charm in the face of minor suffering.

Armed with her sharp sophisticated wit, and determined to take on (if not create) the messiest dilemmas the world has to offer, Crosley remains the unfailingly hilarious young Everywoman, healthily equipped with the intelligence and poise to fend off any
potential mundanity in maturity.

The Library Book Club meets the third Thursdays of the month. Call Karen Christiansen at 237-3870 for more information about the Library Book Club, or visit www.prcity.com/library.
