Tragedy struck north county on rainy Halloween night at about 6 p.m., when a Paso Robles man died in a roll over vehicle accident near the top of the Cuesta Grade on Highway 101, the California Highway Patrol reports.

CHP identified the driver as Ronald Lee Holstine, 44, of Paso Robles. The report said he was driving a street sweeper on the highway, south of Tassajara Creek Road.

The report said a combination of speed, the rain, and balding tires caused his street sweeper to roll over. It was a single-vehicle accident. The report also said he was not wearing a seatbelt. He died in the crash.

The rainfall on Friday night caused dangerous road conditions throughout the Central Coast.
