The San Luis Obispo County Fair program of events and daily judging is as follows:
Thursday, August 24:
9:00 a.m. — Junior Judging and Senior Goat Division Judging.
1: 00 p.m. — Si Otis and the Lipham Trio, free acts from the stage in the center of the fairgrounds.
2:00 p.m. — Horse Show, no admission charge to grandstand.
5:00 p.m. — Band Concert from center stage. This band is composed of musicians made up from within the County of San Luis Obispo.
7:00 p.m. — Same as 1:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m. — Cavalcade.
10:00 p.m. — Dancing on the open air dance floor.
Friday, August 25 — Youth Day:
9:00 a.m. — Senior Judging.
10: 00 p.m. — 4-H Tractor Maintenance Program.
1:00 p.m. — Si Otis and the Lipham Trio.
2:00 p.m. — Youth Day Gymkhana; no admission to grandstand.
5:00 p.m. — Band Concert.
7:00 p.m. — Same as 1:00 p.m.
7:30-8:30 p.m. — Cub Scout Program.
8:30 p.m. — Youth Pageant under the direction of Hal Bragg of Templeton and Parade of Champions
10:00 p.m. — Dancing.
Saturday, August 26 —
10: 00 p.m. — Junior Livestock Auction.
1:00 p.m. — Si Otis and the Lipham Trio.
2:00 p.m. — Senior Racing and Gymkhana Program; no admission charge.
5:00 p.m. — Band Concert.
7:00 p.m. — Same as 1:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m. — Rodeo under the direction of Cuff Burrell.
10:00 p.m. — Dancing.
Sunday, August 27 —
No morning programs… Everyone go to church.
1:00 p.m. — Si Otis and the Lipham Trio.
2:00 p.m. — Rodeo.
5:00 p.m. — Band Concert.
7:00 p.m. — Same as 1:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m. — Cavalcade.
10:00 p.m. — Dancing.

This “Looking Back” view at Paso Robles history comes from one of the hundreds of local newspapers in the Paso Robles Area Historical Society collection. Several local newspapers, dating from the 1800s, have reported on local, national and world events, providing priceless historical views of our community that are not available from any other source. The Historical Society is seeking community support for the multi-phased Newspaper Preservation Project to help fund the transfer of these aged and fragile pages to microfilm and digital images.
