Motorcycle rider sustains blunt force trauma
Accident on Villa Lots Road on north side of Paso Robles
One man was taken to the hospital Monday after being injured in a motorcycle accident in Paso Robles, the CHP reports. The motorcycle rider sustained blunt force trauma from the accident on the north side of town. The accident occurred just before 11 a.m.
The CHP report says John D. McLaurin, 63, of Paso Robles, was driving a 2001 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle southbound on Villa Lots Road approaching Plymouth Hill Road. Scott E. Espig, 60, of Paso Robles, was driving a 1999 GMC truck on the northbound side of Villa Lots. When Espig turned left onto Plymouth Hill Road, McLaurin’s motorcycle slid and collided with the right front wheel of the truck.
The report says McLaurin sustained blunt force trauma and was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. Espig was not injured. McLaurin was wearing a helmet at the time of the investigation, and Espig was wearing a seatbelt.
CHP officers don’t suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
