Mychal’s Myrtle attending Paso Robles Art in the Park this weekend

Mychal Berry Sr. is the woodworker, creating everything from spatulas and cheese slicers to cutting boards, though his main focus is bowls. His wife Audrey makes electroformed organic and crystal pendants, as well as hand-blown glass pendants and hemp jewelry.

–Mychal’s Myrtle and family out of Coquille, Oregon will be attending Art in the Park’s two-day event in Paso Robles, California. Known for high-quality Myrtlewood functional kitchen art and specializing in one-of-a-kind bowls, Mychal’s Myrtle products are currently available in Bandon, Oregon, and surrounding areas. This event will provide a unique opportunity to meet the artist and admire his Myrtlewood art in person.

Oregon myrtle is found only on the Southwestern Oregon and Northwestern California coast. Because of its rarity and beauty, Oregon myrtle is highly sought after in wood art, both by woodworkers and clients alike. Myrtle varies greatly in color due to different minerals in the soil where a particular tree was grown, so you will find it in several different shades.

Their two children, Mychal Jr. (6 years) and Violet (5 months) can be found at the local markets with their pendants, helping tend to the family business.
