Fundraising foundation will support academics, arts, athletics and agriculture
–Community members are working with the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD). to establish the A4 Foundation, a public school foundation. The foundation’s mission is raising funds to support school programs and activities for PRJUSD classrooms and programs. One of the founders, winemaker at Brochelle Vineyards in Paso Robles, Brock Waterman said, “the foundation will be a primary vehicle for attracting and receiving donations, grants, services, and appropriate gifts of any kind, exclusively for the benefit for Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, its students, staff, programs and activities.” The four “As” stand for academics, art, athletics and agriculture.
The initial foundation board members Waterman, Billy Gallant and Don Goldammer, were appointed by the PRJUSD trustees at the February 28 board meeting. Additional directors from PRJUSD staff and the board of trustees were appointed at the March 14 board meeting. Those appointees are:
- Dave Lambert, Trustee
- Rich Clayton, District Athletic Director
- Dana Budd, Director of Curriculum and Assessment
- K. Duane Wolgamott, Chief Business Officer
Waterman said the expectation is to start funding the schools in Fall of 2017. For questions about the A4 Foundation, email PRJUSD Information Officer Martha Clayton at: mmclayton@pasoschools.org.
