Aug. 18: New York’s Jann Klose makes Paso debut
Songwriters At Play featuring Jann Klose
August 18, 2013 1-4pm at Sculpterra Winery
Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Germany, Jann Klose first came to the United States as an exchange student in Cleveland. Now based in the Bronx, his new album is called MOSAIC. He’s co-writing songs and performing with Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley), and has shared the stage with Gary Hoey, Renaissance’s Annie Haslam, Rusted Root, Vonda Shepard, Pete Seeger, and the late Les Paul.
Jann is a featured vocalist and guitarist in the film GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus World). His music is heard on the GRAMMY nominated “Healthy Food For Thought” compilation, MTV CRIBS and movies, “Dead Broke” (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino. The Washington Post says, “Klose wins over the listener with his soaring voice, which may well be a staple of chamber pop for a long time to come.”
Also in the August 18 lineup: Julian Temple, Duane Mark, and Chauncey Bowers.
