Dec. 4, 2012 — Santa Maria Times — A rollover accident killed a Paso Robles man on Highway 101 near Los Olivos early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol, which also reported Monday the recovery of two severely injured men from a pickup that had landed in the ocean on the Gaviota coastline.

About 4:35 a.m. Monday, the Buellton CHP office received a report of a single-vehicle accident in the Twin Oaks area on Highway 101 north of the Highway 154 exit.

Jorge Plascencia-Toro, 34, the driver of a 1994 Toyota pickup, was heading south on the freeway when the truck drifted to the right shoulder, went up an embankment and rolled.

Officer John Ortega said the driver was alone in the truck and died at the scene. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the collision.
