Paso Robles Rotary Club supports local community organizations 

Over the past six months, the Paso Robles Rotary Club has contributed funds to many local community organizations. Club President Gail Tannehill-Llyod recently summarized the club’s activities:

Support for community causes

  • Made in the Shade Shelter for a playground – $2500
  • El Paso Robles Historical Society – $500
  • Boys and Girls Club – $5,000
  • Paso Robles Youth Arts – $3,000
  • Loaves and Fishes – $1,000
  • CAPSLO – meals at the Senior Center – $1,000
  • Thanksgiving in Paso Robles – $500
  • EOD Warriors foundation – $250
  • Skills USA – $3,000
  • Boy Scouts – $2,500
  • PREA – Trip to the Tolerance Museum for students – $1,300
  • Grizzly Academy – $100
  • Skills USA – $3,000
  • Morningstar Youth Ranch for children’s horse therapy – $2,000
  • CASA – $2,000
  • RYLA for Interact Students – $3,850
  • Rancho El Choro Education Center – $1800
  • Winemaker Cook-Off with proceeds going to our local student scholarships – $75,000
  • Upcoming Golf Tournament which funds most of the youth-related donations noted above

Support for international causes

  • Queretaro Mexico – $200 to help build bathrooms in a Daycare Center with a group of 11 Rotary Clubs
  • Rotoplast –  Cleft palate surgery in impoverished areas – $500
  • Grace Center in Zambia- Education center for young girls to keep them out of sex trafficking – $2,100
  • Vision clinic in Belize with 6 people from our club going to distribute 500 pairs of glasses – $500

Community service by club members

  • Old Timers lunch for several hundred Old Timers
  • Hosted lunch for football players before the Paso Robles Bearcats and Atascadero Greyhounds game
  • Salinas River Clean-up Day with Interact students
  • Dictionaries distributed to local school children
  • Peace Conference with Paso Robles Sunrise Rotary Club
  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing
  • Belize vision clinic in March
  • 4-way Test Essay Contest
  • Judging skills USA state competition
  • Support and Interaction with our Interact Club
