Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation brings art classes to Bradley Elementary School District

Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation brings art classes to Bradley Elementary School DistrictRural students to experience the arts with Professional Artist Joe Thomas

Bradley Union Elementary School District enrolls approximately 75 students K-8th grade in its small, conjoined elementary and middle school. An exciting partnership established by Executive Director, Mindy Dierks and Superintendent of Bradley School District, Ian Trejo between Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation (PRYAF) and BUESD allows Artist, Joe Thomas to teach art each Friday to all grades.

Thomas says he is very excited about the project and is committed to making PRYAF’s first ever, Satellite Art Program a success.

PRYAF’s facility is located in Northern Paso Robles (3201 Spring St.) and serves nearly 400 area youth per week in 45 classes. Bradley students find it difficult to commute to Paso Robles, but will now receive the same art instruction they would if they enrolled at PRYAF. Classes have already begun and will continue weekly until June 2020.

About Joe Thomas

Joe Thomas is an organic farmer whose farm is nestled in the hills of the Central Coast of California, Paso Robles. This is home to exotic fruit and nut trees, berries, greens and herbs as well a vineyard of Italian varietals. His working farm serves as a constant source of inspiration and discovery for Thomas who has several studios on the property. Classically trained in drawing and painting he works mostly on location always going back to the human figure as his point of origin. Growing up in a suburb of Los Angeles and studying Philosophy, English Literature and Theology enriches Joe’s inquiry into a unique visual language born from the soil of his farm.
