Pinot & Paella Festival donates 38k to Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation

–The Paso Pinot Producers are proud to announce success of the 16th Annual Paso Pinot & Paella Festival. The annual event, always on the first Sunday of June, has been bringing ever-increasing awareness to Pinot Noir grown and produced in Paso Robles. In addition to providing food, wine, and entertainment to the area, the event is also a charity fundraiser.

A check for $38,000, was presented to the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation (PRYAF) on Thursday, June 27th at their exciting June Revue. This mark’s 16 years of support for this special youth arts program.

Joining 25 Paso Pinot Producers were some of the Central Coast’s Best Chefs. Each year the attendees vote to decide which Paella they enjoyed most.

This year’s Winning Chefs: Chef Justin Picard & Sous Chef Benjamin Lugo of Cello at Allegretto Vineyard Resort; Chef Jeffry M. Wiesinger of Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ; Chef Trish Jacobs of Paso Catering Co; and Chef Andre Averseng of Paso Terra.

Since the first Paso Pinot & Paella event 16 years ago held at Windward Vineyard, more than $450,000 has been donated to Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation and other local charities.

PRYAF provides Art, Theater, Music, Dance and Creative Enrichment Classes to young people at no charge. The organization seeks to promote self-reliance, enhance self-esteem and instill a sense of wholeness in local youth by providing a safe, accessible environment where they can experience the arts, thereby promoting cultural understanding and enhancing the community.  PRYAF believes the arts are vital to the cognitive growth and development and are the driving forces behind all other learning for youth as they become contributing members of the community. PRYAF has been providing children ages 5 to 18 with free classes in the visual and performing arts for 21 years.  Currently, PRYAF offers 45 classes weekly and fills 2316 student seats annually, in their after-school program.  PRYAF relies entirely on donations, private and public funding, grants, and gifts of supplies, and equipment.

“We have state-of-the-art instruments and equipment, and a fantastic facility that provides a safe and clean learning environment.  All of this is provided at absolutely NO COST to families,” says Mindy Dierks, PRYAF Executive Director.  Thank you to all who have helped support our mission for 21 years!”
