Pleasant Valley School ‘Color My Future’ 5K Color Run
returns

–On March 11, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., Pleasant Valley School in rural San Miguel will be hosting its fifth annual Color My Future 5K Run. This year, parents and staff are raising funds for a much-needed refurbishment of the school athletic field and track area. The initial estimate for these improvements is over $5,000.

The Run will begin at Pleasant Valley School, 2025 Ranchita Canyon Road in San Miguel, at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018. The 5K course runs through the Record Family vineyard adjacent to the school. Participants will be running, skipping or walking on the school’s behalf. All members of our community are invited to participate in the family-friendly event. Walk or run through the vineyards, enjoy a pancake breakfast and take home a complimentary T-shirt. Stay for music, a silent auction and more! Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children, and there is also a ½ mile loop for the little ones. The course is stroller-friendly, but if you’d rather, you can also purchase a breakfast only ticket for $10. The event happens rain or shine!

Support is also needed from the community by way of sponsorships, donations, and prizes. The Pleasant Valley Color Run Committee is looking for local businesses to help sponsor the event through cash donations or contributions to the silent auction. As Pleasant Valley is a public school, it operates under a nonprofit status and all donations are tax deductible. The tax ID is 48-1295657.

Pleasant Valley is a one-school district and is one of the oldest school districts in San Luis Obispo County. It was established in 1884 and includes Kindergarten through 6th grade. This small, rural school with about 80 students has been hit especially hard by the state’s budgets cuts. The Pleasant Valley Color Run Committee, parents and staff hope that you would consider helping its children. You are welcome to contact (805) 467-3453 or visit www.pleasant-valley-school.org for more information about becoming a sponsor or making a donation.
