Police issue traffic alert for Mid-State Fair

The 2013 California Mid State Fair opens on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 for a twelve day run. The Paso Robles Police Department wants to remind the public that there will be an increased volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic around the Paso Robles Event Center as people come to enjoy the festivities. Due to this, motorists are urged to plan ahead so they can arrive safely and on-time.

There are also construction projects which will affect the flow of traffic getting to and from the Paso Robles Event Center. These areas include the interchange at Highways 101 and 46 East, along with the 13th Street Bridge and the intersection of 16th Street at Riverside Avenue.

Take a shuttle to the Mid-State Fair

Persons planning to attend the California Mid State Fair can visit the city’s website to find out more about shuttle services available: http://midstatefair.com/travel_and_lodging.php

Finally, the Paso Robles Police Department reminds everyone to be safe by following these simple steps:

  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
  • Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle.
  • Designate a driver if you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages.
  • Notify the police if you observe any suspicious activity.
