Police officers donate $250 for kids’ science camp

Donation-to-Georgia-Brown

Paso Robles Police Officers Association Secretary Melissa Garcia, left, hands a check to PTA President Tracy Cagliero.

The Paso Robles Police Officers’ Association recently presented a check for $250 to the Georgia Brown Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association.

The school’s 5th grade students and parents asked for donations to fund an overnight field trip to a science camp in June. The camp is held in Cambria at Camp Ocean Pines and offers a variety of lessons. The children have the opportunity to learn about outdoor and marine science, visit tide pools, and kayak. The 3-day experience aides in their marine science exploration curriculum in middle school.

The PTA is hoping to meet their fundraising goal in time for the March 1 deadline.
