Police on the hunt for sexual assault suspect

On Sunday, October 21, 2012 at approximately 9:00AM, the Paso Robles Police Department was contacted by an adult female victim who reported that she had been the victim of a sexual assault.

According to the victim, this incident occurred on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at approximately 6:00PM at her residence in an apartment complex on Cary Street. The victim stated a lone male suspect followed her into her residence as she returned from completing an errand. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and left the residence.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of this assault and was subsequently treated and released.

The suspect was described as a white male adult, approximately 30 years of age, and clean shaven. The suspect reportedly has a tattoo of a spider on the inner part of one of his forearms and was last seen wearing tan pants, a gray sweatshirt, and a black baseball cap with white stripes.

The suspect in this incident is similar in description to a suspect who committed a sexual battery on Friday, October 19, 2012 at approximately 10:45AM in the area of Navajo Avenue and Crazy Horse Drive. In this incident, the lone male suspect followed an adult female victim who was walking alone. The suspect grabbed the victim’s buttocks and when confronted claimed it was an accident. The suspect followed the victim for a short time and was last seen walking away westbound on Crazy Horse Drive. The victim returned home and contacted the PRPD. An extensive area check was conducted but the suspect was not located.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Paso Robles Police Department Investigations Bureau at 237-6464. Persons wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 805-549-STOP or submit a Web Tip from the Crime Stoppers website at http://www.slotips.org.
