Rabobank donates to SLO Reperatory Theatre
–The San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre (SLO REP) has received a $3,000 donation from Rabobank in support of the theatre’s Academy of Creative Theatre (ACT) educational programs. Established in 1997, ACT offers year-round professional theatre arts training and performance opportunities in a lively, supportive environment for children ages 5-18. Funding from Rabobank underwrites all aspects of the program, helping to keep it accessible and affordable for participating families and children from throughout San Luis Obispo County all year long.
ACT serves between 250 and 300 students every year in a year-round program of California state standards-based classes and camps which promote the emotional, physical, educational, and social development of young people in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Programs include summer and spring break theatre camps, three separate sessions of after-school theatre classes in the winter, spring and fall and two audition-only production classes which offer students the opportunity to participate in a professionally-directed and designed full-length theatrical production on the SLO REP stage. The first of these productions – The Little Mermaid, JR – will open on Friday, July 12 and run through July 21 on the SLO REP stage. All ages are welcome and tickets are available at slorep.org.
There is a Rabobank location in Paso Robles at 845 Spring St.
