Rep. Lois Capps makes North County stop 

Lois Capps hosts free breakfast for veterans

Local Congresswoman Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, is hosting a breakfast for military veterans Sept. 5 in Atascadero.

The representative is organizing the event to thank the veterans and provide information about government resources available to them.

“This breakfast will be an opportunity to visit with veterans, hear their stories, and connect them with the health, education and other benefits they are entitled to,” Capps said in a press release.

Also in attendance will be Atascadero Mayor Tom O’Malley, SLO County Supervisor Debbie Arnold, and representatives of the Atascadero Elks Lodge, county Veterans Services, Housing Authority of the City of San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo Veterans Hall and Social Security Administration. Bill Hatch, chairman of the Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation, and Chuck Ward of the Vandenberg Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars will also be present.

The breakfast is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Atascadero Elks Lodge, 1516 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA.
