The company is a full service law firm with a diversified legal practice. “Our mission is to exceed our clients’ legal expectations, participate in the communities in which we live and provide each of us with opportunities individually and collectively to improve ourselves,” said Gilles.

“We are excited to welcome one of our original team members, Aaron Johnson, back to the Salinas office. I hired Aaron in October of 1999 and I’ve known him as an outstanding person and attorney. Since his departure in 2004, he launched a highly successful legal practice and career that is consistent with our mission and our growth plans. We are glad to have him join us again as one of our new partners.”

Aaron Johnson has extensive real property and transactional experience. His practice has focused on representation of agricultural business entities, property owners and mineral rights owners, in various contexts including land use, property and water rights, agency regulation, dispute resolution, litigation and political proceedings.

Johnson gained significant business, regulatory and applied science experience while studying viticulture at Fresno State and working several years in vineyards, agricultural production and distribution. His exposure to the increasing regulatory structure in government affecting private property rights and agricultural practices piqued his interest in law. He earned his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 1997 and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1998.

Johnson is President and a Director for the Ag Land Trust, he has served as President of the Board of Trustees for Hartnell College, and is a past President of Monterey County Cattlemen’s Association. He also serves on the Hartnell College Foundation Board, the Board of Directors of Monterey County Farm Bureau, and as an advisor to the Monterey County Visitors and Convention Bureau.
