Snow, ice and hail reported on Cuesta Grade
CHP responds to slippery roads on Highway 101
At 1:29 a.m. this morning, officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to snow, ice and hail on the Cuesta Grade of Highway 101 between Santa Margarita and San Luis Obispo.
Reports came in throughout the night of vehicles losing traction, fishtailing, and spinning out, according to the CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page. Other vehicles were pulled over to the side.
The Cuesta Grade along Highway 101 travels through the Los Padres National Forest and reach a height of about 1,500 feet above sea level.
