Mayor Duane Picano reads a proclamation on Monday at Saint Rose School in Paso Robles kicking off National Catholic Schools Week.

Saint Rose School in Paso Robles is celebrating Catholic Schools week.

The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2014 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” The week is a celebration of the faith-based education the nation’s Catholic schools provide. The observance this year is Jan. 26 to Feb. 1, 2014. This year’s event also marks the 40th anniversary of celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Schools typically celebrate Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and communities at large.

The 2014 theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of Catholic education: schools are communities – small families in their own right, but also members of the larger communities of home, church, city and nation. Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which any Catholic school can and should be judged.

Saint Rose Catholic School partners with parents to provide a quality Catholic education with academic excellence in a faith filled community for children in preschool through eighth grade.

Saint Rose Catholic School will be hosting a Community Open House on Tuesday February 4th from 6-7 p.m. This Annual Open House is where the whole family can tour the campus, their iPad equipped classrooms, meet the teachers, learn about the academics, art, the award winning band and learn more about St Rose Catholic School.
