Templeton Chamber to host candidates forum Sept. 30 

Templeton Chamber of CommerceThe Templeton Chamber of Commerce will give the community a chance to meet the four candidates, for two open seats, on the Templeton Community Services District Board of Directors, at a candidates forum scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Templeton Community Center at 601 S. Main Street.

The forum is free, open to the public and will be moderated by the League of Women Voters. Attendees should arrive early to submit questions for the candidates in writing. The November ballot will offer voters in the TCSD boundaries the opportunity to vote for two of the following four candidates:

  • Navid Fardanesh, a dentist
  • Gwen Pelfrey, a retired banker
  • Wayne Peterson, a retired auditor
  • Robert Rosales, a real estate broker

Templeton residents can also meet their local merchants at the annual Business Expo, to be held Thursday, Sept. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Main Street. This event is also free and open to the public. Event will feature over 40 booths by local businesses with free giveaways, raffles, food, beer, wine and entertainment.

Kiwanis Club will be hosting a drive-through Tri-Tip BBQ benefiting the Templeton Community Library Association. BBQ Tickets are $12 for an individual, $40 for a family four pack and are available at the Chamber office. The theme of this Patriot Day event is “A Salute to American Heroes” and a special invitation is extended to all active military, veterans and first responders in the community.

Other upcoming events sponsored by the Templeton Chamber of Commerce include the 13th Annual Wine & Roses Bicycle Ride on Saturday October 11 and the Founder’s Day Street Fair on Saturday November 1 from 1-4 p.m. on Main Street between 3rd & 5th.
