Templeton considering fire protection alternatives

The Templeton Community Services District will be holding a workshop with its board of directors, other local fire agency providers and members
of the Templeton Firefighter’s Association to review options on future fire service delivery alternatives.

The options under consideration include the following:

1) Continuing to remain an independent Fire Department making incremental improvements to the current staffing and service delivery model, which will necessitate
the hiring of a permanent Fire Chief;

2) Contracting with CAL-Fire for 24-hour staffing coverage at Templeton Fire Department (moving Engine 30 from its present location)

3) Entering into a partnership with neighboring fire departments to provide various administrative and management services in support of the Templeton Fire Department in lieu of hiring a permanent fire chief, and to make additional resources available.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Templeton Community Center located at 601 S. Main Street. The public is encouraged to attend. Any questions regarding information in this notice may be directed to the Templeton Community Services District at (805) 434-4900.
