Twin Cities Hospital junior volunteers awarded $6,000 in scholarships

Twin Cities hospital in Templeton.

Twin Cities Community Hospital offers volunteer opportunities to local high school students who are looking to gain real life experience in a hospital setting, and for those who want to make a difference in people’s lives.

Three junior volunteers at Twin Cities received scholarships that totaled $6,000, which will go towards their college education:

  • Kate Fisher – Cuesta College
  • Lydia Stanley – Cuesta College
  • Maya Kerey – San Diego State University

In addition, the volunteer program at Twin Cities Community Hospital donated $5,000 to the Cuesta College endowment.

Funds for the scholarship program come from profits earned in the volunteer-run hospital gift shop and other fundraisers. The junior volunteer program requires students maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and volunteer a minimum of 120 hours at the hospital.

Volunteers at Twin Cities Community Hospital are a vital part of the hospital, providing a great resource for patients, families, visitors and employees.
