Two injured when truck slides off icy Adelaida Road 

accident on highwayA woman and a little girl were injured and taken to the hospital this morning after a pickup truck the woman was driving slid off the road, California Highway Patrol reports.

Ramona Pinedo, 34, of Paso Robles was traveling southbound on Adelaida Road, about a mile from Nacimiento Lake Road, at a speed of approximately 45 mph, in a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck. She entered a slight curve in the roadway which was iced over from earlier in the morning.

Pinedo lost control of her pickup and ran off the road onto the right shoulder. The pickup then struck several steel fence poles impacting at the driver’s door. The pickup came to rest, on its wheels, in a field.

The driver received major injuries including blunt-force trauma while the 10-year-old passenger received minor injuries. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts. Both occupants were transported to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision, CHP report. This collision is still currently under investigation.
