Volunteers needed for old-fashioned 4th of July

4th of julyAn “Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration” is coming to Paso Robles City Park on July 4 as part of the 125th Anniversary of Paso Robles. This patriotic community event will include a Children’s Parade around the Park, Fun and Games in the Park, a Concert in the Park, a Salute to America, and, of course, fireworks.

Volunteers are needed to make the first-ever Independence Day event a success and organizers need you. There are a number of opportunities between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and most are two or three hours in length. Some of the tasks include parade route monitoring, helping with children’s games, monitoring the fireworks safety exclusion area through the day, and assisting with the Salute to America.

“This is going to be a lot of fun for our community and we need your help to make it a reality,” says organizer Al Garcia.

A T-shirt, food voucher, and water will be provided. A brief orientation and waiver form are required to ensure safety. Call or email Al Garcia to volunteer: 226-9262 or al.garcia@pacbell.net.
