The purchase of a raffle ticket will help Atascadero Rotary carry out its work locally and globally. The Atascadero Club has created many programs to support the community, especially its young people, so that they may become informed and educated citizens. The club also contributes to global Rotary programs that save lives and provide shelter to people in their hour of need, whether because of disease, earthquake, flood, or other natural catastrophe.

The Atascadero Rotary Wine Raffle benefits several causes, including the following.

Atascadero High School Scholarships

The club provides 14 scholarships to graduating seniors at Atascadero High School. It have awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships since 2005.

Atascadero High School Ethics Conference

The club regularly sponsors an Ethics Conference, at which seniors and juniors bring up situations that present ethical dilemmas. The Rotary Club members help the students work through all aspects of the situation, allowing the students to have a greater understanding of ethics and of how to evaluate situations to make good life-choices.

Atascadero High School Personal Finance

Since 2010 the Club members have presented an on-campus 4-day financial education seminar to every graduating senior at AHS.

Greyhound-Bearcat Football Lunch

This event has been a great success as the players of both teams get to know each other and create a more positive atmosphere for the annual football game of rivals.

Other Community Projects

In just the last few years, the Atascadero Rotary Club has provided a sun cover for picnic tables in the Lake Park and an exercise station in the Lake Park.

Exchange Students

The Atascadero Rotary Club has sponsored exchange students through Rotary to improve knowledge of our country for foreign students

The Global Fight to Wipe Out Polio

Polio is a scourge that has damaged and destroyed many lives around the world. Rotary is dedicated to the complete eradication of this disease, and the fight is almost won. With the help of the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Rotary has brought the incidence of the disease from 350,000 children infected in 1985 to fewer than 2,000 in 2009.

Shelter Boxes

This program is supported by Rotary Clubs all over the world. In each shelter box is a tent large enough for a family of 10, tools and food for 6 months. They are deployed around the world in times of natural disasters.
