Screen Shot 2013-02-02 at 9.02.29 AMThe Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Board of Directors announces the hiring of its new government affairs coordinator, Patricia Wilmore. After conducting an in-depth search, Wilmore, a veteran of government relations with more than twelve years of experience, was selected to represent the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and its members as a private contractor.

“Patricia brings a diverse background in government relations to Paso Robles Wine Country,” said Jennifer Porter, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. “We are confident that her professionalism and knowledge of the local community will represent the best interests of the wine industry and foster positive relations with a number of constituencies.”

Wilmore most recently was the senior government relations consultant at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) serving San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. Prior to PG&E, she served as the vice president and director of government affairs for the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce. Her experience with both organizations has provided her the skills necessary to analyze pertinent issues and communicate them effectively to all stakeholders.

Wilmore’s role is to monitor issues and potential regulations locally and countywide that will impact Alliance members with a focus on water, land use, economic strategies, community, and agriculture. Patricia will represent the Alliance on a number of local committees including the Paso Basin Groundwater Blue Ribbon Committee and the Uniquely SLO Action Team. She will continue partnerships with related organizations (e.g., Central Coast Vineyard Team, Farm Bureau) and be a participating partner with San Luis Obispo County and the City of Paso Robles.
