Woman found dead in car that went off Lake Road

Dec. 22, 2012 – A 49-year-old woman was found dead Saturday morning in a car that went off the road near the intersection of Adelaida Road and Nacimiento Lake Drive in Paso Robles. At 10:21am the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of a single car traffic accident involving an unresponsive single occupant. The vehicle had apparently left the roadway and came to rest in a wooded area near the intersection. The single occupant was pronounced dead on scene and identified as Mary C. Stacey. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic accident. Cal Coast News reports “In January, Stacey’s family reported her as missing. Police in Wisconsin asked the public to help find Stacey, who they said was homeless but usually stayed in contact with her family. “In February, Stacey called her father to tell him she was in California, according to the Gazette.”
