Youth Lacrosse Summer League kicks off
The “fastest growing sport in the USA” has debuted on the Central Coast, this past Spring and the Summer season, which began on Saturday at the Soto Sport Complex in Arroyo Grande.
Over 80 players from ages 8 to 15-years-old, boys and girls, have been practicing over the past month on teams from Santa Maria, 5-Cities, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles (North County) in preparation of thier very first youth lacrosse game in Arroyo Grande.
The summer youth SLO YMCA lacrosse season will be on Saturdays, June 28, July 12, July 19, July 26, Aug 2 & Aug 9 . Games will be played mostly in Arroyo Grande at Soto Field with other games on July 26 at Templeton and Aug 2 at Santa Maria.
Games are broken down into age groups, U11, U13, and U15. The teams are coached by volunteers who have previously completed at the collegiate or club level and/or know about the game of lacrosse.
